Managing Accounts Creatively
BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY
Creativity is key. No matter what branch of Advertising you are working in, you have to be able to problem solve and think creatively. When I first came to Brigham Young University I was a Studio Art major. I have always loved fine arts, with an emphasis on oil and watercolor painting, but after my first semester I felt like Studio Art wasn’t quite the right fit for me. I tried Interior Design, Business, Spanish but couldn’t find anything that stuck. Then I found advertising.
I walked in the first day of the Intro to Advertising class not knowing anything about it and walked out in love. It requires a creative mind, it requires great managerial skills, and it requires passion. I walked out of that class knowing that I had all three.
Since completing that course I’ve dedicated myself to the study and production of great advertising. Not only am I a committed student, but I am also a great Account Manager. BYU has a fantastic advertising agency, the AdLab, built into the Advertising program. During my first semester I took advantage of this great opportunity and worked on four campaigns, all while working part time and being a full time student. This semester I'm excited to work with even more clients and hunt for internships.
If you want a dedicated, capable, creative, and passionate Account Manager, I’m your girl.
